Question Updating Database

Ive been searching google for the past hour.Im trying to find the code to update a database.Would I would like is for the database to be laid out on a datagrid, and when the user clicks ont hat entry a form pops up to edit it, with all the fields laid out.I would really appreciate if someone could just show me a very basic example of this
