Update a database from the internet ?

I was just wondering if it's possible to update a database online using vb.net...im trying develop a program in vb.net that records data and then pass that data recorded to a website

I would like to hear some opinions and if possible solutions to my problem

Yeah, that's how most web sites work. From your question I am guessing you don't have an understanding of server technology. You should do some reading on iis.
