Unable to download schema error

In a sample application I am running for my course, I receive the following error message: "Unable to download schema: The application must be run once with access to the Internet in order to download the schema".

What is the severity of this problem for applications I may want to create by myself, and what can be done about it?

Sounds like it is pretty specific to the application you are running. It doesn't sound like any general .NET error I have come across, and a quick google search seems to confirm that - the message doesn't come up in full anywhere.
