Trying to cycle through files in a directory

I hope this is OK to post here. I'm doing this for an ASP page, but the problems I'm having aren't specific to ASP, so I am posting it here. Basically, this is is looking through a directory for all files beginning with the username of the person logged in and adding them to a hash table, For example, when I'm logged in as Blake, my files are "Blake1.jpg", "Blake2.jpg" etc. I have an imagebox and two buttons, and I would like the image to go to the next or previous image, depending on whether the user hits forward or back. Somehow, my count is getting messed up. I'm hoping that someone can look at this and figure out where I went wrong. Button4 is back and Button5 is forward.

You can't base a static counter on a page variable that resets every postback. Your 'fn' integer will be set to 0 for every server round trip. Instead use the Session object to keep track of current index (or a hidden page field or other state objects). You can initialize it if you need to in page load event handler within the standard 'If Not Page.IsPostBack...' clause simply like this:
VB.NET: 
Session("MySessionObject") = 0
Later treat it like any other variable:
VB.NET: 
Session("MySessionObject") += 1

This is still giving me problems. I'm getting an "index out of range when I click Button6 (the button to see the next picture) and the line I'm getting it on isn't even trying to access an index of the hash table, it's just saying "
If Session(fn) = hash.Count - 1 Then". Am I using the session part correctly also? This is the code for the "forward" and "back" buttons:

Since your 'fn' variable is always value 0, I'd say you're always using the first session variable, so that should be ok given that you actually did create a session variable first. I would still access the session variable directly by the name of your chosing, for example "MyIndex". Accessing the Session variable by an integer index is confusing if it doesn't serve a purpose, as it doesn't in this case.

Also you should give the button4 a meaningful name, you said it's functionality was 'back', so why not name it 'BackButton' ?

Thanks. I got this working. I'm using a listbox to keep the filenames, and a label to keep the name of the selected file from the listbox. When the selection is changed in the listbox, I have this:
