Transparent background, VB.net

Howdy
I don't know if this has been up here before, I didn't find anything on this forum (quick searh, though), but I have a little problem here:

I want a transparent background in my form, but ONLY the background.
Any buttons, textboxes, everything else should have a normal background.
So, I only want the background to be transparent.

I'm actually new in VB.net (or programming, at all), so please give me an example, if this even is possible, okey?

Uhm, I'm not sure about what you mean,
I'm runnin' Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition, WinXP Pro.
Yeah, I surely missed the question...

EDIT: Yeah, I use Windows Forms. WPF, hmm. I have no idea. I'll check it up.

When you create your project it asks you what type of project you want to create. There you select either a Windows Forms Application, a WPF Application or one of the others. WPF is basically the new hardware-based graphics in the Vista UI.
