Strange..vwexpress extensions

I have a VS .net application. Somehow before I ended the night working with it, I somehow moved many of the files out of the main folder. I found this out the next day and went crazy looking for them when I had a problem running the app. When I opened the main folder, it looked like all the remaining files had a vwexpress extensions on them.. how could this happen? When I found the files in another folder I moved them back to the main folder, and it ran the app, it ran fine and vwexpress extensions disappeared?

Any idea how and where the vwexpress extensions came from?
