Stop Timer command

I'm fairly new to VB.net I'm on 2005. But anyways I'm looking for a command where I press a key such as F8 or any key really and the Timer1 stops. Any hints. Thanks

Do you want this to happen only when your app has focus or when other apps have focus too?

Preferrably both. I'm still learning. Right now though its for another app that has focus

It's relatively easy if your app has focus because you simply trap the appropriate key with the form's KeyDown event. If want your app to be notified of specific keyboard activity when its not active then that will require a keyboard hook.
