small/capital letter in search box?

Hi whats up
I'm create a petroleum engineering dictionary by Visual basic but I have a problem thats my problem when I write down a word in my search box if the word is start by capital letter and I'm stored that word in data base by small letter the search box don't find the mean which I write it ,I want to solve this problem I mean if I write a word in small or capital it doesn't have any difference in searching to find the mean in my dictionary data base. thanks for helping

What database are you using? I know that SQL Server is case-insensitive when it comes to such queries and other databases are too as far as I'm aware.

I'm Using windows form in .vb
bro there is a problem when a word right down in small letter and the word was stored in capital letter there is not find any mean, I wanna there hasn't any difference between (Good or good) in writing to search like other dictionaries

Noone asked what type of application you're creating. I asked what database you're using, e.g. SQL Server, Access, MySQL, etc.
