This should be really simple. I've edited a project I wrote a few months ago to include another form to allow registration. In the Form1_Load event (which is the main app), I have RegForm.show. The problem is that the main app form loads and then shows up over the Regform. I'd like to either hide the main app form or make it so that RegForm loads and/or stays on top until the user clicks submit. Thanks for any help.

Thanks. I got it working. The topmost property on the main form was set at false, but it still did it. I just changed the topmost property on the regform to true and that fixed it.

You should use the ShowDialog method to force user to complete registration before continue in 'mainform'. Making another form TopMost doesn't prevent user from accessing 'mainform'.

I got this to just show the registration form at first, but in my testing, it isn't showing Form1 after I click the button on the registration form. What am I doing wrong here? It shouldn't matter at this point whether or not I have entered anything in the text boxes on the registration form. I've tried Form1.Show() and Form1.ShowDialog() in the Button1_Click event, and nothing works. How do I do this? Thanks. This is what I have right now.

I've also tried this both ways with Form1 and RegForm set as my startup form. Which should I have?

set your main 'form1' as startup, and in that form_load you check if app is registered, if it is not registered you simply showdialog on an instance of regform. should it register fine form1 should continue to load and will display, else app should exit.

I've tried Show and ShowDialog and I'm getting an error with both. The error is:

Form that is already visible cannot be displayed as a modal dialog box. Set the form's visible property to false before calling Show

The small section of code relevant to this problem is this:
VB.NET:
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
If My.Settings.PartnerID = "" Then
Show(RegForm)
I even tried using "RegForm.Visible = False" before the RegForm.Show (or ShowDialog). It doesn't work either way. What's causing this? Thanks.

VB.NET:
'in form1_load...
If My.Settings.PartnerID = "" Then
    Dim r As New regForm
    If Not r.ShowDialog = Windows.Forms.DialogResult.OK Then
        Application.Exit()
    End If
end if

Thanks, that got the RegForm loaded. Now I'm having problems getting the RegForm to go away and Form1 to load when the user clicks Button1 on RegForm. My Button1_Click looks like this:
VB.NET:
PrivateSub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Me.Show(Form1)
My.Settings.PartnerID = PartnerID.Text
My.Settings.LicenseKey = LicenseKey.Text
EndSub

My splash screen stays up the whole time RegForm is up too, and when I click Button1, I get this:

Form that is already visible cannot be displayed as a modal dialog box. Set the form's visible property to false before calling Show.

if you're set to go here then do this, remember returning anything other than dialogresult.ok will exit the application from the previous logic:
VB.NET:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) _
Handles Button1.Click
     My.Settings.PartnerID = PartnerID.Text
     My.Settings.LicenseKey = LicenseKey.Text
     Me.DialogResult = Windows.Forms.DialogResult.OK
End Sub

Thanks, that works too. The only thing is that the splash screen stays up the whole time that RegForm is there, which isn't a huge deal. It's behind RegForm at least. Thanks for your help.

I don't have anything in the code dealing with the splash screen. I guess it's just a check box somewhere. Here's the code for RegForm:
VB.NET:

There isn't much code in Form1 that would be relevant, but here's the part you might want to see.
