well guys possibly a silly question but the title says it all

jmcilhinney will be happy to know i am going through my database and fixing a lot of small issue and consistency with formats of names and tables.

Before hand i was using the VS IDE Dataset to manage my relationships between tables, only because i was editing it so much as i went along, but now im pretty sure i have atleast 90% of the database complete and working as should and have the information to finish it (hopefully), so as im doing a few final edits i am going to go through the DB and get it should be when finished.

I do kind of think most people are going to say manage the relastionships in the database, but to be honest i do like the VS IDE layout compaired to access's solution, but gota do what the better way instead of lazy way lol, so should i do it in the Db or Dataset or does it even matter?

Thanks Guys

Hi,

I would say that this depends on where else you may want to use this particular Access database. If this database was guaranteed to be specific to this one project then I would say "it does not really matter". However, if there was ever a possibility that you could manipulate records in this database directly through Access itself or through another project then I would always say "Set them up in the Database".

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Ian
