Progress bar loading data to gridview

How to show loading of data in gridview using progressbar?
Loading method: Fill
Database:MSSQL database.
Platform: .net 2

Don't really know of a good way to be exact. You could fake it by using a timer tick and guessing the time it takes to perform the load, or actually timing the event. If it takes 45 seconds set the timer interval to 1000 and the progress bar max to 45 and increment by 1.
Continuous Progress Bar is also an option.

thanks but that is not a soultion for me. i will have users usign app on network with differnet speeds (lan, adsl, even modem), so that is no good.
