open a file with a wanted application

My problem is the following:
I need the code to open a file (which has no default association) with a given external application?
Sorry if my problem is not so clear... I try to explain it better: I have to open Files.file with MyApplication; but I prefere not to associate this kind of Files.file to MyApplication by default. However, I need a code that can open Files.file with MyApplication, although MyApplication is not the default application for opening Files.file.
Can you help me?
