offline mode and online mode?

Hey Guys, Just looking to find out what this idea/method would be called so i can read up about it.

if i was to build an application that had an offline mode and an online mode.

i would like to be able to use my appliction in an offline mode as such when im out and about, then when i get home be able for it to add all the new records into MS SQL Server when it has an internet connection.

hope this makes sense what i mean, any good articals or teaching refrences would be Very helpfull.

You should look into using the Sync Framework:

There is a local database caching feature built into VS that streamlines some of the process, although I've never used it myself so I can't expand on that:

Alot of my google searches where bringing me to articals about putting SQL server into offline mode... obviously not what i wanted

althought i did come across a post that has mentioned a few things that i am looking into at the moment

it did mention the Sync Framework, it also mentioned the entity framework.
having a quick look at this as some one mentioned that it was newer than some of the thing he did.
