New to .net

I am new to .Net.I have already done VB and ASP programming. I wanna know the basics of database connectivity with ADO.net (VS 2005)

Can anyone help me with this.

I get really many hits with Google for "ADO.net" - everybody want to teach you the basics of this !
Only at first search page I got 8 different "step-by-step", "how to", "tutorial", "quickstart", "help", "overview", "introduction" etc.
You should be in hard luck and blindfolded not to get started.
