My latest quest in the software world is a working, affordable licensing/protection system for .NET.
Salamander from RemoteSoft (dot com) looks like the ticket for protection, so I'm on to licensing.
Here are my requirements :
.NET (VB and C#)
Less than $1000 per developer would be acceptable
Royalty free distribution
Support for activation and hardware locking - too many of my customers are buying single licenses and using them on more than one computer.
The Contenders :
XHeo (www.xheo.com)
I've looked at many and of all of them, Xheo stands out. It supports everything I need a licensing system supports and is very affordable. However, I've been unable to find anyone using Xheo in the field to give me some "real world" feedback.
Desaware Inc (http://www.desaware.com/products/licensingsystem/index.aspx)
Pricey, very pricey, but they don't hide that and I really respect them putting it on the front page. Regardless of how good it is, the price might kill this one.
I need more than just two to consider - help!
