Question Login In Application Using SQL 2008

Hi All,

I am creating an application using VB.net to maintain my CD collection.

For that I want to provided a login form.

Since I am new to VB.Net.

I do not know how to validate the user name & password entered in the login form.

I am using SQL 2008 as backend.
I have created a table called userdata in Master Database.

Also is it possible to provided a webbased interface to the application which I am developing afterwards.

Please guide on how to go about doing the same.
