Listview not refreshing

After I add, delete or edit values in a listview I want the listview to refresh to reflect the changes. I have tried

my.Forms.frmPublications.lvTitles.Refresh

but this doesn't work at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

try this:
listview.items.Clear()
and then populate listview with the new data. If you use reader object to fetch the data it (performace) is not a problem at all.
