Hello all
I have - or will have - several/many questions regarding this environment. I have many years experience in programming, but this mostly in the 'old' or linear school!
I have unfortunately missed the last 4 years (or so ..) of developments in the programming field, but am now endeavouring to make this deficiency good.
I have downloaded the VisualStudio 2005 (Express?) and installed this but without the SQLExpress DB, instead I have - with the necessary permission of a licensed owner - installed the MSSQL 2005 Developer edition.
So much to the background - now my first question:
Is this an acceptable constellation??
I ask because with this SQL-Server I cannot open the DBs delivered with the VisualStudio itself or those that are included in the associated tutorials - EM: ... cannot be opened with this release of the SQL Server 2005 .... (or similar)
I thank you for your patience, and, depending upon the answers I receive, be aware that you open the flood gates for a barrage of questions to this group!! ;-) ;-)
brgds,
David_D
