Install from Orcas Beta

OrcasBeta2ProX1394646.img is downloaded as an img type file.
Is it possible, and necessary to copy this file to another file type on my hard drive and then install from this new file? I do not have a dvd burner.
Detailed directions will be appreciated.

You could try Gizmo Drive or similar tools (search "extract img"). I don't know, but it sounds as it should work with your file. From the Instructions of your download page there is also one, see the section "Mounting ISO files virtually" down the FAQ page, I read somewhere that the .img file could be renamed to .iso (also unconfirmed from me ).
