A couple of years ago my team has created an app to capture images using wiaaut.dll (Windows Image Acquisition Automation Layer) the app goes directly to the camera and will take, retrieve and delete images. right now we have 3 cameras that work great nikon coolpix 3200 for example. we started to get some new cameras and discovered that a few cameras don't work at all (wich is fine), but the real kicker is many work 80%. specifically the flash didn't work when wiaaut.dll requested "take picture". this is a big deal since we have our camers on tripods taking pictures at intake, the flash needs to work. I found a list of supported cameras on the MS site but the 3 that I tried had the flash issue. I asked MS for a list with 100% functionality and they passed it off as a camera issue, the camera companies passed it off as a MS issue. we are in the process of buying cameras again. has anyone used wiaaut.dll for this purpose and what cameras do you use. is there a 100% functionality list out there now?
