howto modem control - sending .wav files

I am VERY NEW to VB but I would like to develop a simple app that dials a series of telephone numbers & then plays a recorded .wav. I have looked at ActiveX controls for Communication & Wave Form Audio Interface.What I don't get is how to put the two together to be able to send the audio over the modem??Thanx MUCH !!</p>

You need to have a very fancy modem (very rare) or purchase something

don't be fooled by thinking any old voice modem will do.
