How to Use Server Explorer

I just installed VS Studio 2005 for the first time along with SQL Server 2005.

I am attempting to use Server Explorer to experiment with the drag and drop creation of data adapters. This is something that was very simple in VS Studio 2003. In VS Studio 2005, however, I can see the name of my SQL Server, but I cannot find any databases in the list. What I do see in the list is crystal report services, event logs, management classes, message queues, perfomance counters, and services.

I am familiar with seeing an instance of SQL Server on my task bar with SQL Server 2000. From that icon I could start and stop the instance of SQL Server. I am assuming that because I don't have an instance of SQL Server 2005 running on my task bar, this is why I cannot find any databases through Server Explorer in Visual Studio 2005.

Can somebody help me get a quick start here? How do I use SQL Server 2005 to get an instance going? Will this solve my problem with Server Explorer?

Thank you.
