How to specify port in connection string?

Hi

I am doing a simple VB.Net program with sql server as backend database....
but my SQL server runs on a non-default port.
How can I specify this port in my connection string?

or

...data source = SERVERNAME, port_number;...

now, i always thought it didnt matter when using Named Pipes, but if youre connecting to an ip without specifying the instance then you need to spec a non default port. www.connectionstrings.com
