How can you center the column heading text in a datagridview?

I've tried setting the text alignment property to 'middlecenter' but the text is not center aligned. It has a left offset so instead of appearing as centered it is centered-left (between left align and center align)... is there no way to overcome this? The best method I've found so far is adding spaces to the column text so its 'centered'. Please Help!!
