Get Client Info/Read Registry

Hello All

I am just now trying my hand at ASP.net and I have hit a bit of a roadblock. I would like to know if there is a way to obtain information about the client that is accessing my asp.net webpage. For instance, is it possible to determine the OS that the remote client is running? Also, is it possible to connect to and read from a client registry?
