Embedded database

Hi Guys

I try to find any embedded database which is suit to my standalone application. Before this, i'm using Adaptive Server Anywhere (ASA) 9. But, I don't think good idea because every time my application connect to database using OLEDB, the server will come up.

What I'm looking right now is any standalone database with capacity not more then 1GB and secured with user id and password or encrypted without add-on server.

One more thing, any of you familiar with database called 'REPO DATABASE' ? I try to open this database to migrate from this database to my database.

You can try one of the following:

SQL Server Compact

VistaDB

Personally I like VistaDB better.

There is Sql Server Compact (CE). It is integrated by default with VB 2008.
