At work we are in the process of alterring our network around, alterring drive letters, placement of files, etc, etc..

Now one problem has been found in that we have just realised how many shortcuts we actually have so I have been tasked with writing a program that will do the following:

* presents a screen with 2 text boxes, search string, replace string.
* allow the selection of a directory.
* search through all the sub directories for shortcuts.
* edit all the shortcuts where the search string is found and replace with the replace string.

How easy is this and can anyone point me in a start direction as it were.

regards,

Matt

VB.NET:
Dim shortcuts() As String = IO.Directory.GetFiles("directorypath", "*.lnk", SearchOption.AllDirectories)
With WSH COM library you can get and modify shortcut info, see this thread for code sample.
