Disable updates (IE, Windows)

Hi ... does someone know how to disable updates in vb.net. I have to disable the following:
- Windows updates
- IE updates
- Acrobat updates

I only have found how i can disable "real" services (example: DNS Client) but i realy have now idea how i can disable updates (maybe because they are no real services ???)

Can someone help me plz?

One of the windows XP services is 'Automatic Updates', if you disable that both windows updates and microsoft updates will no longer occur.

I don't know about Adobe products.

However, why would you want to disable those updates? For MS products, it's almost a requirement because MS cant make an OS correctly from the get-go. For Adobe products, the newest version always has backwards compatibility, I think Acrobat 8.0 can still open Acrobat 1.0 files without problems
