Deploying converted .Net 1-2 VB.net application

I recently upgraded from vs 2003 to 2005 and now am having problems with the deployment project. The application installs and runs on my machine with no problems. When I install on a client machine we do not even get to our splash screen. We get the general microsoft "must close application error" . Gives an error code "0XE0434F4d" kernel32.dll in the details. Have had no problems in deployment for the previous two years of versions. The new frmawork is installed and client machine is updated fully. Any thoughts?
