How do you customise the form as in how can you change the top of the form and add custome made images to act as a button

You can't change the title bar other than what the properties of the form allow, which means changing the text and whether or not you have min and max buttons. You have to remove the form border together and then use controls and/or GDI+ to simulate a title bar. You then need to handle the drag and drop operations yourself too. May I suggest that you get the basics down first before you try playing with the fancy stuff. Get the engine running before you worry about the paint job.
