communication between applications

Whats the best way for an app to communicate with another app running in the same network? Like for the App running in PC A to send a request to PC B and the same app on PC B to reply to it? Something simple will do.

Sounds like a job for TCP/IP. Create a TcpListener at the server end and a TcpClient at the client end.
