Question Any ideas with record absence for students

Hi,

I'm looking to a build a simple VB program which will record absence for students. I've previously created Excel and MS Access solutions but hope to move on to something a little more flexible. The format I would like to create is one form which creates a scheduling look, by this i mean a calendar view of sorts. Days of the month across the X axis and student names down the Y axis. The goal is to be able to add an "S" if they are sick in the relevant day on the calendar. My issue is I have no idea where to start.

My background is VBA programming in Excel and Access to an advanced level.

Any ideas or tips would be welcome.

You can use a series of text boxes next to student names. Or use the calendar tool and have a calendar drop down for each student.

Could work, just to show you an example in excel as to how I can see the GUI looking. This would interact with a DB to record changes etc



I bet there is a simple way of doing it I just can't see it.
