Accesing, Editing, Saving to text files on server from within program

I've scoured and scoured and can not even find the right ball park to start! I need to be able to access text files hosted on my server from within my vb.net program. I need to be able to edit them and save them back to the server also. I do not want or need database for this. Any help please!?

use opendialogshow and savedialogshow, setting filter dialog to ".txt" and setting initialdirectory to your server ip.
